Balbirnie House

A dream in Georgian splendour, Balbirnie House is a Grade A Listed country mansion set in 400 acres of idyllic parkland in Fife, with a golf course, a snug library bar with over 100 malt whiskies and a truly outstanding restaurant.

This is a house with grand proportions, yet there is always a cosy corner in one of the many drawing rooms in which to relax. Arched windows overlook beautiful gardens and the individually designed rooms and suites are a tasteful blend of contemporary and traditional.

But, the pièce de résistance here is The Orangery restaurant, for cooking at its highest level. Try the unique private tasting room where you can watch and hear all the action in the kitchen during service, whilst enjoying gourmet cuisine. The following day, enjoy a round of golf on the adjacent Balbirnie Park, Par-71 golf course.

Services

Balbirnie is fortunate to have an array of elegant reception rooms to relax in, including the magnificent Long Gallery and original old Library Bar. There are two restaurants, the award winning Orangery and the Balbirnie Bistro. Views from the house extend over well-manicured garden lawns to Balbirnie Park golf course, a scenic and undulating par 71 challenge. There are plenty of lovely woodland walks and a jogging trail throughout the park.

Dining
The glass roof Orangery restaurant (awarded the Scottish Hotel Restaurant of The Year award 2008) is decorated in shades of chocolate and silver with a lovely bright and airy ambience, offering modern Scottish cuisine with a French slant. Three course lunch is priced GBP 16.00 per person. Three course dinner with canapés and coffee with petits fours is 33.00 GBP per person. Dress code is smart casual. Opening times: lunch 12 - 2.30 pm and dinner 7 - 9.30 pm. The Balbirnie Bistro offers a more casual alternative. The Library Bar offers a fine selection of malt whiskies. Lovely gardens for drinks and afternoon tea, weather permitting.
